coknuck Posted April 6, 2006 CID Share Posted April 6, 2006 If you are using DVD Shrink check this box if you are multi-tasking

coknuck Posted April 6, 2006 CID Share Posted April 6, 2006 I rip with DVD Decrypter and then use DVD Shrink to edit and burn. I don't multi-task either. But I do know it takes a long time if the box is checked to copy and burn. I have a 120gig HHD so I don't care how much room I use. I just delete the files when I'm done. j3grizz Posted April 6, 2006 CID Share Posted April 6, 2006 When I burn I notice that it uses a lot of system resources. What OS are you running? There are several options for speeding it up a bit. You can turn off unneeded services, disable unneeded programs from loading, defragment, etc. It just frees up more ram so that it doesn't have to use virtual memory. Try these and if you still need help ask. Hope this helps.
organ_shifter Posted April 6, 2006 CID Share Posted April 6, 2006 fattymcbluff , Lets try this: Open up Device Manager Expand your IDE Controller Right-click on the controller which handles your Hard Drive/CD/DVD-Roms and click properties In the properties window, select the channel which has your CD/DVD-Roms (normally the Secondary Channel) Ensure that your transfer mode is set to Ultra DMA/DMA and not PIO (reboot)Note: If you have/select the option to let bios select transfer mode, reboot and enter the bios to find the option that allows you to choose which transfer mode your optical drives function under. It should be set to DMA. If not, correct it and reboot. I hope this will be of some help to you.
