Guest H3lix Posted April 11, 2006 CID Share Posted April 11, 2006 my speeds have been slow lately so i want to get a little more out of it. Heres all the info 1. I'm running windows xp with the SP2 and p2p. 2. ISP is SBC/at&t 768/256 3. I have cable nut installed TCP options string = 020405ac01010402 MTU = 1492 MTU is optimized for PPoE DSL broadband. If not, consider raising MTU to 1500 for optimal throughput. MSS = 1452 MSS is optimized for PPPoE DSL broadband. If not, consider raising your MTU value. Default TCP Receive Window (RWIN) = 17424 RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits Unscaled TCP Receive Window = 17424 RWIN is a multiple of MSS Other RWIN values that might work well with your current MTU/MSS: 511104 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 255552 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4) 127776 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2) 63888 (MSS x 44) bandwidth * delay product (Note this is not a speed test): Your TCP Window limits you to: 696.96 kbps (87.12 KBytes/s) @ 200ms Your TCP Window limits you to: 278.784 kbps (34.848 KBytes/s) @ 500ms Consider increasing your RWIN value to optimize TCP/IP for broadband. MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON Time to live left = 56 hops TTL value is ok. Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON IP type of service field (RFC1349) = 11100000 (224) Precedence (priority) = 111 (Network Control) Delay = 0 (normal delay) Throughput = 0 (normal throughput) Reliability = 0 (normal reliability) Cost = 0 (normal cost) Check bit = 0 (correct, 8th checking bit must be zero) DiffServ (RFC 2474) = CS7 111000 (56) - class 7 (RFC 2474). j3grizz Posted April 12, 2006 CID Share Posted April 12, 2006 Post a speed test. Your pings and trace route look good to me. What seems to be the problem? Welcome to the forum H3lix.
tommie gorman Posted April 12, 2006 CID Share Posted April 12, 2006 H3lix how long have you had the cable-nut installed? Might take a full 3 days for the settings to take full effect.
Guest H3lix Posted April 12, 2006 CID Share Posted April 12, 2006 i just wanted to see if i could tweak my connection in any way to get a little more speed. tommie gorman Posted April 12, 2006 CID Share Posted April 12, 2006 Check with Van Buren! He can make them up. Also try the 1496 file test file. It might show better results. Also clean out cookies and files including offline files before testing.
