lorne Posted April 15, 2006 CID Share Posted April 15, 2006 I have noticed my bandwidth spiking lately so did a little looking around and have found a process running in task manager called msctrl.exe that i cannot terminate. Looked at what it was doing in my firewall and there are between 80-100 people connected to me within my ISPs network all leeching small amounts of bandwidth....very strange. I cannot block it either. Using kerio personal firewall and have it set to block all connections from this application but it still manages to get through. Running windows xp. Clean of viruses and spyware according to trend micro, panda AV, spybot and ad-aware. A google search turned up absolutely nothing. Anybody know anything about this? "msctrl.exe" maybe ms ctrl.exe Maybe a Microsoft Control executable. Open My Computer. Locate the program file (.exe) or the program's shortcut icon. Right-click the program file or shortcut, and then click Properties. Click the Program tab for an MS-DOS program or the Shortcut tab for a Windows program. With the cursor in the Shortcut key box, select the keyboard key you want to use in combination with CTRL+ALT. Shortcut keys automatically start with CTRL+ALT. The Shortcut key box will display None until you select the key and then the box will display Ctrl+Alt+the key you selected.
