StreetRacerRicehunter Posted May 15, 2006 CID Share Posted May 15, 2006 i would like to start with saying i know this technology is seriously outdated i know i just hope that help with the knowledge u pros might have on this stuff? well i got the radeon 256 9250 it dosent seem any better than the geforce 4 128mb cardthat was in there b4. the max it will let the agp run is 4x overclocking holds a wide spectrum though after sum fans were mounted on and around the cards heatsink. 166 to 219 on the memory clock 240 to 329 on the vpu clock give or take 10 points on each before everything gets glitchy. and the card remains lightly warm to the touch. "not hot" processor amd athlon on 1.02GHz overclocked and 768 on the memeory on dooms lowest quality settings and all viedo card setting for optimal performance i get 40fps at best and as low as 5fps in sum heated battles with multiple enemies, average of 11-15fps with single enemy. with the nvidia 28 card i seemed to be doing way way better than this although i can rmember what the fps were then. the pc is clean, defraged and cd drive for disk is optimized. ive ran through sum suggested settings for doom3 to improve sum fps without robing out things like the lights and what not. o ya and i first installed the card and played doom it was doing better than this but not by far, i instaled driver updates for the radeon and none of my games worked so i rolled back and now its fine? when i instaled the update it gave me the same thing on all of them saying it cant open the opengl sumthing and a few said opengl32 extensions could not be found or opened? any how heres the commands set com_allowConsole "1" set com_showFPS "1" set image_downSizeBump "1" set image_downSizeBumpLimit "1024" set image_cacheMegs "128" set image_cacheMinK "10240 set image_useCache "0" set pm_runbob "0" set pm_runpitch "0" set pm_runroll "0" set pm_walkbob "0" set pm_bobpitch "0" set pm_bobroll "0" set pm_bobup "0" set pm_crouchbob "0" set r_displayRefresh "75" set g_fov "90" set r_brightness 1 set r_gamma 1.3 set com_showMemoryUsage "0" set com_videoRam "256" i was wondering if any1 knew any commands that help the game for more fps, or things you can do to your pc? any help is greatly apericated!! Swimmer Posted May 15, 2006 CID Share Posted May 15, 2006 try these drivers www.omegadrivers.net If i remember correctly Doom3 runs better on nvidia boards.. It was designed for the NV40.. some one might want to check that.. but I am pretty sure on that..
reno Posted May 15, 2006 CID Share Posted May 15, 2006 There is a site that you can go to and itll tell you to unpack all the files that are in your doom folder accept one, if you do this then the game will load and perform alot better. Ill see if I can come up with a link for you.
