grndzer Posted July 25, 2006 CID Share Posted July 25, 2006 I hate that this is my first post but I am having trouble and need some help. My Boss gave me his direcway system "dw6000". He says to me " I cant get out of my contract and I have three more months you might as well set it up at your house and use it " I think, great Idea!! So I do. Now I know nothing about direcway but figure I can set it up. Well its installed I am getting 70-73 in signal and everything seems to be ok for a while. I have tested it at 9pm 7am and 2:30am and all get the same results. It starts out good, great downloads, I am on a Mac running OSX so I go to apple's web site and start downloading an OSX update 149mb. It does the same thing every time. Starts and gets to about 40mb and slows down this morning I was getting 4.3k down. What is going on? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am searching this forum for previous posts so if you know of any that would apply let me know thanks Roger
grndzer Posted July 25, 2006 Author CID Share Posted July 25, 2006 Rate code, that is one thing I noticed was low only like 256 what is that about? When I first installed it I could hit downloads of about 700k but that was it, now I wish I could even get that again. thank again,
ghostmaster Posted July 25, 2006 CID Share Posted July 25, 2006 You have been FAP'd most likely. http://fairaccess.hughesnet.com Read this, and if you don't think you are getting FAP'd, we'll help you troubleshoot. But Im pretty sure you're reaching your download threshold....

tommie gorman Posted July 26, 2006 CID Share Posted July 26, 2006 A little better. Have you restarted your modem lately? Take out your modem cable from the modem and touch the end at least 10 seconds. Clear out your cache and do disk cleanup. Try again.
