plan9media Posted August 9, 2006 Author CID Share Posted August 9, 2006 Nope, we don't get the boost here (Denver) until mid-September, and from what I've seen of others who have it already I would be higher than 12... I use SpeedConnect MC: http://www.cbs-soft.com/speedconnect.htm using setting for: Cable Mode 3 I've never had below 9 since I installed it, and usually faster. Very cool, because when I tried other tweaking, it really didn't make an impact.

AgentGOD Posted August 15, 2006 CID Share Posted August 15, 2006 That isn't PowerBoost Oh, and "PowerBOOST" is temporary. It only lasts for 1/2 of the download (starts dropping back to advertised speeds at around 20 MB completed).
MYRIAGON Posted August 15, 2006 CID Share Posted August 15, 2006 it's not ?.........Oh OK you're right I get that speed all the time. I know it's only temporary as I have stated in other posts. Oh and by the way it doesn't last through half the download, it's more of a time constrained boost, that download screenshot I showed took about 2 Min. total for 266 Megs. it started at about 4MB/s and toward the end of the download it was down to about 1.7 MB/s Plus I am on the 8Meg plan so it would be obvious I would get a little better than yours

AgentGOD Posted August 16, 2006 CID Share Posted August 16, 2006 I looked in my modem's page, and my caps were 6600000 bps, 384000 bps. PowerBOOST is not controlled by cap.
