tommie gorman Posted September 26, 2006 CID Share Posted September 26, 2006 Welcome to the forum Rlanham What happens when you do not use the router, directly plugged into the modem? My second question would be, when was the last time you cleaned out your comp? Achieve the Best Performance Out of Your Computer http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-4257 Including defrag and Disk Cleanup? In Start*All Programs*Accesories*System Tools...

Rlanham Posted September 26, 2006 Author CID Share Posted September 26, 2006 I have a strange problem.. those speedtest were with my router inline. If hook cable modem directly to desktop, I have no problem. I have tried a different router, cables etc. to no avail. Last night speeds were find again thru router after midnight, but problem back again this morning. I use crap cleaner, adaware, everything religiously.. I have no viruses or spyware. I used to be able to run a tracert, not it times out.., but connection running at 3700K on all speed tests, until this morning again. It is a mystery. I have done a google search and a few people have experienced the same problem, but have not found a solution. I guess I will call Insight tonight if I am still having speed problem to see if there is some type of power fluctuation. Of course they just have you hook up modem directly to pc and of course everything is fine then.
tommie gorman Posted September 27, 2006 CID Share Posted September 27, 2006 Rlanham think a second, "It only happens when I am using a router"? So why would it be anything else?
