cholla Posted October 4, 2006 CID Share Posted October 4, 2006 I found out a power strip I use for my main TV is causing some picture interference.I tried another one & it has the same effect. If I unplug the strip & plug the TV in direct I don't get the interference(But I also don't have enough outlets for the DVD,VCR's.Satellite reciever etc.)I ran across the article in the link below & thought I would post it for opinions. The article was about the ground loop effect on an electron microscope. http://www.biotech.ufl.edu/EM/data/fields.html One reason I thought this might effect computer performance & you might not even realize it was happening. So what kind of power strip do you use for your PC or TV?
php Posted October 4, 2006 CID Share Posted October 4, 2006 Well, a ground loop shouldn't affect a PC... As far as my surge protector, I have a single plug-in one (unknown) followed by my APC UPS. (For my computer and monitors anyway.. I have 4 surge protectors in here I think...)
