theblade Posted March 7, 2005 CID Share Posted March 7, 2005 Yeh i am on a 4000 dway aint quite sold me on a 6000 yet. i have been thru so much crap to get this thing running and i still get lots of variation in speeds. sometimes i get over 2000 kbps sometimes i get 13 and upload cosistently suxx. i have used the tweeks and a few days on hold listening to crappy music till mohammed gets on the line and ask me to call him "Bill" now that i have learned to translate farsi into southern english i do better with tech support but i still caint get consistent speed Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

theblade Posted March 7, 2005 CID Share Posted March 7, 2005 well they have already stopped supporting software prior to version 4.2 so what am i gonna do when they stop supporting the 4000 system then i will be forced to run the 6000. just don't seem fair to sell me a 700$ system and then make it obsolete just to sell me another one. even at a discount it seems wrong especially since the new system isn't as good as the old one. i hate being chained to a system i bought. costs too darn much to just walk away from it oh yeh to run the test a while ago i managed to run into the fair access policy. like i don't have enough ways for this thing to slow down. every time it actually works for a while i get the fap crap. dway isn't our friend Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I've found that it just depends on who you are talking to at the time....I had one level two guy that didn't know the difference between bits....and bytes.. I was getting about 80 kb down, until I set up my proxy correctly, and now I get about 105-110 I just tried this optimizer and tested several times on Testmy and got download speeds ranging from 20 - 80. I am running a dw6000 and have had it a little over a year now. I used the restore backup in the program and am getting speeds back to 105-110. Should I try it again or what? Your speeds now are not to bad....however the TCP optimizer has helped many people on here....including me.. If your on a regular consumer account...those numbers would fall right in line with the rest of us. There are a few people on here that are on horizon 1 and they seem to do a little better than the rest of us. I can hit right around 1 Meg on most days for a download.....However don't judge the optimizer program today...Mondays are the worst days for Dway.. I just ran 4 tests and they ranged from 384kbps to 998kbps......so this ain't the day to play. Now after 11:00pm EST it usually all clears up...(NOC turns the lights off or something)...Hope maybe something here helped...if there's more questions just ask.. One, is it a wise move to purchase a used 4000 instead of a new 6000 considering both performance and long term commitment to the system because of no other broadband options?
