FGOKURULES Posted October 28, 2006 CID Share Posted October 28, 2006 Yo im interested in upgrading my sounds in my car and was wondering if any 1 has an Hd-Radio, is it worth it? is it the next generation of radio? I know from research that regular f.m. sends about 96k's of audio quality which is near cd,, Yeah ok I know thats bull, But does any 1 know the bitrate of an Hd-Radio broadcast? Give a little insight if you can.

FGOKURULES Posted October 28, 2006 Author CID Share Posted October 28, 2006 iv'e read that I wanted to know from users experience, and it still doesn't really give any tech info behind it just a-lot of broadcast specs nothing really pertaining to sound quality and usefullness
php Posted October 28, 2006 CID Share Posted October 28, 2006 I haven't tried it, but I can tell you 96kbps is nowhere near cd-quality... cd quality is somewhere around 1441kbps (i forget the exact number)

FGOKURULES Posted October 28, 2006 Author CID Share Posted October 28, 2006 So I saw that Hd-Radio is supposed to be capable of 5.1 surround sound,, which is a load of bull, most car audio systems are only stereo anyway. and I really doubt music bands are recording theirs songs in 5.1 surround sound.... So has any one else have a reason to go Hd-Radio
