kilgil27 Posted November 8, 2006 CID Share Posted November 8, 2006 So I've installed the program, but I don't actually know how to use it. Do I need to install it on a certain computer, or will the tweaks affect all the computers? and... how do I change the settings...
Ryan314 Posted November 8, 2006 CID Share Posted November 8, 2006 Well the tweaks affect only the computer you install it on. For the settings you can use vanburens cablenut settings hold on while i get you a link. http://www.testmy.net/topic-1013 theres some info theres two of vanburens cablenut settings attached there i believe

Ryan314 Posted November 8, 2006 CID Share Posted November 8, 2006 also... am I doing this right? I open the cablenut adjuster, go to open custom settings file, pick one, hit hit save to registry then done, correct? ya make sure your using the cable settings and im assuming you need the 6/384 file. so just click the file and click save when cablenut comes up. Then click done and then restart for changes to take effect as coknuck said

Ryan314 Posted November 8, 2006 CID Share Posted November 8, 2006 Actually if your getting that high of an upload you may be on the 8 meg plan from comcast. In that case try the higher file because you should be pulling at least 8000kbps download. Unless in your case you have a faster ul and less than 8 meg dl. What are your advertised speeds? i think you forgot to tell us that.
kilgil27 Posted November 8, 2006 Author CID Share Posted November 8, 2006 I called comcast and they told me I was on the 6mbps/768kbps plan and I actually got better results with the 5000/384 file than with the 6000/768 file
coknuck Posted November 8, 2006 CID Share Posted November 8, 2006 Go back to what works best for you and experiment with others,
Ryan314 Posted November 8, 2006 CID Share Posted November 8, 2006 Agreed, just experiment with different settings now that you know the 5/384 works for you. But you should be at least pulling 6 megs on your download.
coknuck Posted November 8, 2006 CID Share Posted November 8, 2006 Copy these numbers in to the adjuster and save. These worked good with my 4000/384 and my 10000/1000. Hope they work as well for you as they did for me
kilgil27 Posted November 8, 2006 Author CID Share Posted November 8, 2006 using the 6000/764 file you sent me, working pretty well. I have wireless, so that may be the reason I'm not getting the full 6 megs on my downloads. Thanks for all your help you guys
