tommie gorman Posted November 14, 2006 CID Share Posted November 14, 2006 Welcome to the forum Mr NiceGuy Are you sure you paid for that high of a package? I mean maybe the package you are paying for is not going up that high in D/L speed. Just a thought. If you are not sure, call your ISP and make sure. Blunted 2 Posted November 14, 2006 CID Share Posted November 14, 2006 no tommie he has my ISP and the lowest package is 15/2 but depending on his area he will probably be around 12 mb to 14 mb. try this file below and tell me how it works. Mr NiceGuy Posted November 15, 2006 Author CID Share Posted November 15, 2006 I have the original one its a motorola sbv5120 surfboard. By the way i tried the file you gave me and after 3 tests on your file and 3 tests on van burens 10/1 tweaks urs was slower on all 3 counts by about 1 Mbps. Might not be accurate though. Mr NiceGuy Posted November 15, 2006 Author CID Share Posted November 15, 2006 Van Burens version 6 cable OOL 10000/1000 settings. But since optimum changed the service to 15/2 and my settings are 10/1 could that be a problem. Is there new settings somewhere here that i didnt see. I think my motorola modem is good for the job i dont think a better one might make a different like a d-link or something.

Anyway when i came back from school today my internet didnt have a connection i rebooted and power cycled my modem for 1 minute. Then i decided to call ool. The rep told me that there might be a small outage somewhere but he was unsure so he told me that a repair man will come and check it out on friday. The rep also told me that the connection might come back on in a short period of time and told me to cancel the repair man appointment if that happened. After like 30 min the us led stopped blinking and the connection went back on with all steady lights. I went to work then and left aim on when i came back it was disconnected. snouter Posted November 16, 2006 CID Share Posted November 16, 2006 Hi y'all. I am new here, use OptimumOnline with a Motorola 5120, have tried the Cablenut program, used some of the suggested adjustments from Blunted 2 (I downloaded the VanBuren zip file but really have no idea which one to try out) and figured I would post my current situation. snouter Posted November 17, 2006 CID Share Posted November 17, 2006 I have no idea why since I did not change anything since the tweaks made above, I even had Anti-Virus on, but I had a major improvement on a testmy.net I just did. I am afraid to test again since that might have been a fluke. Optimum is supposed to be delivering 15/2 speeds I believe.
