Smuuth Posted November 29, 2006 Author CID Share Posted November 29, 2006 My issue is not with my speeds. The speeds are pretty close to what I expect from PPPOE DSL. The issue is that the upload speed test says that I am only running at 84.99% of my host's average. That statement is in conflict with what is displayed when I check the testmy.net database for Covad.Net speed and it says my speed is 54.84% FASTER than my hosts average. Hmm, this sounds like something CA3LE would know. Maybe the UL test shows more current results and the database shows older results.

tommie gorman Posted November 29, 2006 CID Share Posted November 29, 2006 I have to admit it, I never really thought about whether it was right or wrong. I never figured it really mattered. I guess you were just curious though? I guess I am also, now. How do they come up with those speeds I wonder
Sparticus Posted November 29, 2006 CID Share Posted November 29, 2006 When I try to compare hosts it doesn't even work for me.
tommie gorman Posted November 29, 2006 CID Share Posted November 29, 2006 OK try this Sparticus. Host Stats in TMN header*click Submit Query button*it should put up your host and you. Mine is 1408 D/L average. and somehow miraculously 157U/L which is a lie. I have never tested that high. http://www.testmy.net/tools/database/host_stats.php?host=direcpc.com¬boolean=1 (4 mo)
