fikester Posted December 28, 2006 CID Share Posted December 28, 2006 File a claim with the BBB and join Sylvan in the class action suit......
mogramjo Posted December 28, 2006 CID Share Posted December 28, 2006 Sylvan, I really enjoyed looking at some of the beautiful instruments on your site http://wellsguitars.com/ I started with the mahogany strat that Sparticus linked to. I'm really too old to use the word 'awesome' a lot...but it and the whole site is just that. I'll be happy to hear/read when you've got Wild Blue's toes to the fire and get some results. tommie gorman Posted December 28, 2006 CID Share Posted December 28, 2006 Third party changes the contract on WB? That is nuts!! I am glad they did not tell me that at hughes when I called in. And they say WE have crappy support.
danyell Posted December 28, 2006 CID Share Posted December 28, 2006 yeah i know it sucks i even went and bought a new computer cause they tried to blame it and since i really dont know much about comps i thought it was worth a try since promised speeds are 1.5 and I'm only getting 0.4 ick about ready to take the modem thing to someones office and throw it at their head lol
tommie gorman Posted December 28, 2006 CID Share Posted December 28, 2006 I don't believe it is the third parties job here. Definately WB's. A quick a dumb question. Do you know if it is properly grounded? And have you tried restarting you modem? And the speeds are crazy back and forth no matter what different times of day? Have you read this? http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-4257
danyell Posted December 28, 2006 CID Share Posted December 28, 2006 yeah im grounded im assuming it is the right way and yes have tried restarting several times and yes it speeds up and slows down and even stops constantly. and no i havent read any links ever time i try to click on them they wont come up i just get blank pages like most everything else lately
tommie gorman Posted December 28, 2006 CID Share Posted December 28, 2006 An even stupider one then. The sky is clear. The satelite nose, the clear plastic cover facing the dish, is it got water in it? If so that would kill it. I am on dway/hughes so it might be different. danyell Posted December 28, 2006 CID Share Posted December 28, 2006 yeah its clear tonight besides according to their homepage that shouldnt matter lol and i look at the sat the other day nothing looked wrong anyway. im just hoping it was hooked up right since the guys that came to hook it up seemed clueless. no need to blush either trust me i have no idea about this kind of stuff
tommie gorman Posted December 28, 2006 CID Share Posted December 28, 2006 OK, the link was for spyware and virus cleaning. Do you defrag and disk clean regularly? Have you checked for errors? Mainly what was on it. And according to what was on their homepage, it is running normal.
danyell Posted December 28, 2006 CID Share Posted December 28, 2006 yes checked all that even though i only brought the computer a week ago i still tried it oh i know it is always running correctly
tommie gorman Posted December 28, 2006 CID Share Posted December 28, 2006 Other than that, I have no idea. Best of luck though. And check on that clear plastic cover in the morning. It might be that after all. Good luck. WB support should be doing their job. How long is the contract?
mogramjo Posted December 28, 2006 CID Share Posted December 28, 2006 I appreciate that link Tommie http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-4257 There's a number of people I wind up 'counselling' who need to acquire some 'good habits' as are detailed by Streetriot there...It's super handy just to be able to lay that link on 'em and it's not the kind of thing that's easy to convey in a few typed words, so. THANK YOU!
danyell Posted December 28, 2006 CID Share Posted December 28, 2006 i think it was two yrs yuck lolll thank you for helping and yes i will check that in the morning
tommie gorman Posted December 28, 2006 CID Share Posted December 28, 2006 Yep, that is my number one fix it link. And I do it daily, and have a lot less problems. I just wish I had written it myself. 2 years? That is just yucky icing on the cake here I guess. That is starting to sound really bad for them. And they started out so well. Your not using Norton AV are you?
danyell Posted December 28, 2006 CID Share Posted December 28, 2006 no i stopped using norton using defender pro now not having the same problems with them

tommie gorman Posted December 28, 2006 CID Share Posted December 28, 2006 That is one of the things I leave out of my reformat. I prefer e-mail. Try cleaning out temp files and restart the modem. Did you reboot after turningit off? Sometimes it takes me a while to figure it out on my own sometimes. Just have to keep pluggin. And 2 heads are better than one. Mine is usually about 50 kbps too. That is normal for me. Also try testing U/L with the 579 speed test file. Not the smart one. And for the D/L try the 2992 file test. They work much better. The smart does not work as well for me.
