reno Posted February 13, 2007 CID Share Posted February 13, 2007 Well I wanted to mess around with my samsing sch-a950 and see what the EVDO connection could do, I am sure it would do much much better if I had more then one bar but thisll do for now. The only way to do it though is set the phone up as a Modem and since it will only connect at 230kbps, if any one knows another way to do this let me know, and if any one wants to know how to set this up I can also explain. granpa Posted February 13, 2007 CID Share Posted February 13, 2007 Many phones have a spot for an external antenna connection. Some of these antennas are inexpensive. If you can bring your bring your signal up I'm sure your results will improve. To get the maximum speed you need the maximum signal. I was looking at that route and remembering finding some on eBay. tommie gorman Posted February 14, 2007 CID Share Posted February 14, 2007 Just curious grandpa, in your research. Couldn't you just hook to a TV antenae in the attic for a signal boost?

Sure you could, but for your TV, thats why different designs, different types of signals then also directional and omni-directional. What you could be thinking of is called a repeater and requires no connection. A good read is here http://www.evdoforums.com/thread3136.html . I had done much investigating back a year or more ago but now my signal in the house has doubled, maybe because the tower now has revision A.
