granpa Posted March 6, 2007 CID Share Posted March 6, 2007 Where do I find that I think I pay 40.00 a month. It is all in with my cable bill and it gets drafted. As far as a registry cleaner I have regcure pcpitstop. I think they are just optimizer. Do you know of any free ones? Thanks I'm not sure about the software you have (regcure pcpitstop), but since you have it you should find out if it cleans the registry. I get a lot of tips and free software from download.com so check this out http://www.download.com/3120-20_4-0.html?tg=dl-20&qt=registry%20cleaner&tag=srch there used to be many free cleaners but now I see it has become limited, use the filter to find what you want. granpa Posted March 6, 2007 CID Share Posted March 6, 2007 Are you running a firewall or 2 firewalls that may be blocking your downloading?
tommie gorman Posted March 6, 2007 CID Share Posted March 6, 2007 Please note in the quote, "I do have two browsers, 1 AOL, 2 Firefox, and 3 IE7". If you have AOL loaded get rid of it, causes many problems because it wants control and is tough to uninstall. You will need too look many places for all the folders. Its possible it is preventing your downloading. I would run a registry repair program after, there are free ones. All my Apps I'm using for maintenance are free ones. Since AOL is considered a virus in itself, that could very well be true. And that is a bugger to get rid of.

granpa Posted March 7, 2007 CID Share Posted March 7, 2007 How about the registry, have you done anything with that? Personally if I have a new service I would wait a week or two to see how it's performing before any tweaks are used. And if your going from a much slower ISP why would you need more speed other than game or brag, my opinion. But you do have a problem and lets figure it out. Remember one step at a time, if you do a bunch of things and it works you may not know what the fix was.
tommie gorman Posted March 7, 2007 CID Share Posted March 7, 2007 Also have you tried error checking? Very recommended registry cleaner. Free, and can work with yours still installed.
