jackyandjoe Posted April 18, 2007 CID Share Posted April 18, 2007 well, it doesn't really matter whether is capped at 3 or 4 MB if their services sucks, they keep restricting the bandwith and with their new VOIP is worse, we still get sloppy service, that is what no competition does, they get to do whatever they want since we have no where to go to... jackyandjoe Posted April 19, 2007 CID Share Posted April 19, 2007 rammolo, what is your default gateway, maybe going through that route is better than some of ours. mine is 70.45.24.1 and really sucks...
Him Posted April 19, 2007 CID Share Posted April 19, 2007 Fix P2P? No frigging way. Still slow as hell... uTorrent very slow. Also, last night download speed was extremely slow, and I haven't yet experienced the so called new 4mbps speed. Maybe if I shut my modem or reboot it it will have downloaded the new cap file or something weird like that?
rammolo Posted April 20, 2007 CID Share Posted April 20, 2007 Since this crappy company opened their VOIP service, this is getting worst. what the shit nowhere to go ...DSL????
Him Posted April 21, 2007 CID Share Posted April 21, 2007 And the DSL here isn't much an option since PRT just sucks ass. I was considering Sprint, Verizon's or Centennial's wireless internet, cuz OneLink is really getting on my nerves recently. Hopefully they will lose enough customers to notice they screwed up. usoledad Posted April 21, 2007 CID Share Posted April 21, 2007 And I think this is the beginning. First, they offer VOIP and throttle p2p... And because their poor service level... they restrict user speeds... However they always will say: "remember is UP TO 4Mb" So, the question is which is the minimum service level a user can receive from an ISP? Because I think a 10% of the advertised speed is ridiculous....
rammolo Posted April 21, 2007 CID Share Posted April 21, 2007 Hi. At least dont even consider centennial....better consider dial up....
usoledad Posted April 21, 2007 CID Share Posted April 21, 2007 Is Centennial too crappy ?
rammolo Posted April 21, 2007 CID Share Posted April 21, 2007 You should know that all those phone providers use EVDO "evolution data optimized" its signal is transmitted from their cell towers, and they claim a maximum of 2.4 Mb, which is good, but just as craplink and any service provider, speeds are never guaranteed. usually with a good signal you will have an overall of 800Kb, thats really crappy. Usually service are bout 50 bucks a month and require contract, the good side is that it usually includes roaming.
Him Posted April 22, 2007 CID Share Posted April 22, 2007 Yeah.... and there is no way OneLink fixed P2P. I am using Zudeo (or whatever the name is, the Azureus streaming program) and it is being limited to... meg, 9Kbs, and I am sure it has enough seeders. Getting annoying.... highlanderc Posted May 11, 2007 CID Share Posted May 11, 2007 Well ... we should do something about it.. yes... total throttling to about 9k/s I never signed something that said they limited that type of connection...
rammolo Posted May 12, 2007 CID Share Posted May 12, 2007 Well, i get bout 22/23 KB on my downloads, better change your ports
Him Posted May 12, 2007 CID Share Posted May 12, 2007 Rammolo... was that serious? 22/23 KBs? We are paying for 500KBs of speed, not 22 or 23. Right now I am downloading at 71KBs off uTorrent. Not that fast but I am getting used to it already. By the way, OneLink's evening speeds lately have gotten better, so I am happy there. rammolo Posted May 13, 2007 CID Share Posted May 13, 2007 Hi, If you get 22/23kB like me in torrents, seems you're like me very lucky, thats true we pay for 550KB, but remember the slowest, my down test sure meets 500kB.
