Dcp70 Posted June 22, 2007 CID Share Posted June 22, 2007 With all of the knowledge that is used with satellites I don't understand why a drop of rain or a flake of snow blocks out a simple signal from the satellite. What would happen if the world could not use satellites for the universe?
ghostmaster Posted June 23, 2007 CID Share Posted June 23, 2007 Because electromagnetic waves travel best through a vacuum, just like a bullet will travel further and faster when shot through the air instead of under water. If your system is cutting out during a light rain, then you are either on the fringe of your satellite's footprint, or your system isn't aimed and or mounted properly. It takes a hell of a storm to knock me out. That goes for Hughesnet, and DirecTV.

Bird Fan Posted June 24, 2007 CID Share Posted June 24, 2007 I have the same problems with mine, even my tv. Like right now, my tv isn't working because it's "searching for satellite signal. It's not even raining anymore!
