grift3r74 Posted July 25, 2007 CID Share Posted July 25, 2007 I have lots of game installer image files (DVD) in my hard drive. Do you guys know of a good file compressor program? I've already tried Winrar but it doesnt really make much difference.. The smaller the file output, the better.. I wish I could save hard drive space a bit more... Thanks!! Any suggestions/help would be deeply appreciated....
dlewis23 Posted July 25, 2007 CID Share Posted July 25, 2007 since they are images they are already compressed, so your not going to be able to compress them much more. doing the file split in winrar would probably be the best.
Sequoia Posted July 25, 2007 CID Share Posted July 25, 2007 There is a freeware DVD compresser that might help you.I haven't used it for game files since I don't have any but it compresses DVD files from movie DVDs.It takes 3 different programs of freeware to compress a movie. The freeware has to change it to an .iso file for the burner to work. With shareware 2 programs.I guess this might work for games. This program does not decrypt so you may need a decrypter program. Anyway the program is DVD Shrink 3.2.0.15 at least those are the numbers from mine there might be an updated version.
