tr8cer Posted August 4, 2007 CID Share Posted August 4, 2007 My upload speed is at 6 kB/s?? My download speed is fantastic. Roadrunner just changed to Comcast in Houston. Ever since then my upload speed ranges between 2 and 6. I've gone through every tweak guide/optimizer but cannot find the culprit. I've spent over an 1 hr 1/2 on the phone between Comcast and Linksys but no help either. Any suggestions as to what may be the culprit or what I can do to boost the upload speed? Any help would greatly be appreciated, Steve :::.. testmy.net test results ..::: Download Connection is:: 15494 Kbps about 15.49 Mbps (tested with 12160 kB) Download Speed is:: 1891 kB/s Upload Connection is:: 53 Kbps about 0.1 Mbps (tested with 97 kB) Upload Speed is:: 6 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net (Main) Test Time:: 2007/08/04 - 3:25am D-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-8EHO3V6NC U-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-L791IESQK User Agent:: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.5) Gecko/20070713 Firefox/2.0.0.5 [!]
mudmanc4 Posted August 4, 2007 CID Share Posted August 4, 2007 After a bit of reading on my part , it seems that there are many just like you, since the change over has begun. I would suspect , just as when Adelphia moved to TWC in my area, things will eventually pan out. It took nearly 6 months for my connection to come true to what it should be, but now they have raised my up load, as well as my down load. I think you'll be quite satisfied, when they get things ironed out . Hang in there

TheHalf Posted August 4, 2007 CID Share Posted August 4, 2007 Yea my upload results are considerably slow when I test here at testmy, fortunately the results are not true, have you tried running downloadupload tests at another website? Try and see if your results are the same. Here's my upload results from testmy: :::::::::::::::::.. tr8cer Posted August 7, 2007 Author CID Share Posted August 7, 2007 Thanks for all the great advice. I have always tweaked my speeds by way of dslreports and here as well. It turned out that the changeover from Timewarner was the ultimate reason. I first dealt with Linksys about the router, then comcast at least 5- 8 times each. I will say this the reps at Linksys in India spent over an 1 hr 1/2 on the phone for free, great people. I finally got an honest answer after speaking to the people at the headquarters for comcast in Arizona. Ultimately the nodes in the neighborhood were not able to handle the new speeds. The download speed went up from 5.4 Mbps to 15 Mbps. The upload speed went up form 50 kBps to 150 kBps. Thanks again
Blako Posted August 8, 2007 CID Share Posted August 8, 2007 Is that 150kbps permanent? I would gladly loose 1Mbps download in exchange for another 1 Mbps up.
