krc1979 Posted December 15, 2007 CID Share Posted December 15, 2007 Well it's about that time again. It's Christmas time and like every year I like to buy myself something nice after I finish shopping for everybody else. I got a nice bonus from work so I'm thinking about buying a new toy. I'm really considering either an LCD monitor for my desktop or a tv tuner for my laptop. I don't know a whole lot about LCDs cause I have always had CRT monitors but it's about time for an upgrade I think. I'd like to stay around the $200 range, possible a little more if it's a good deal. I'd kinda like a regular screen as opposed to a widescreen since I use my desktop more for gaming than anything else. I don't need anything huge but I figure i should be able to find a good 19" in my price range. Not sure about brands or anything. I've heard Samsung makes good monitors but I haven't owned one yet. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
coknuck Posted December 15, 2007 CID Share Posted December 15, 2007 I got my first LCD this year and got a Samsung 940N. Couldn't be happier. Had to get my wife a comp for her to do her work on and it came with a Samsung 941BW widescreen. Both are great but myself I prefer the 940N. But its up to you which kind of monitor you want. 940N: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824001089 941BW: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001088
