TheArtworkGuy Posted June 20, 2008 CID Share Posted June 20, 2008 Hello, I recently reformatted my computer and I'm missing a bunch of drivers, like my sound card driver ( i never bought a sound card, i think it came with my motherboard, yet i have no idea what model the motherboard is ) and i can't play music. is there a FREE program or place that can scan my computer for all the driver updates? i did a web search but found nothing but programs trying to sell themselves. AlucardHS Posted June 20, 2008 CID Share Posted June 20, 2008 Chances is its by Realtek, AC97 audio. Im only guessing but try that !
vern Posted June 20, 2008 CID Share Posted June 20, 2008 You could search on the computer manufacturer's website for info on what you have and they may have all the missing drivers too.

coknuck Posted June 20, 2008 CID Share Posted June 20, 2008 I kind of had the same problem with the AC-97 Audio on my computer. I got Realtek drivers but to no avail the sound wouldn't work. Not even after reformatting. So I went to Walmart and got a Creative SoundBlaster card for around $30.00 and haven't had problems since I realized it wasn't seated right. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4978926
Sequoia Posted June 20, 2008 CID Share Posted June 20, 2008 Try PC WIZARD 2008 http://www.cpuid.com/pcwizard.php This may or may not list your soundcard drivers but should identify the sound card. Look for it in Hardware/ Multimedia /Device Audio . Mainboard should also identify your motherboard.

Try this one. http://webcenter.ru/~tsw/Drivers_MM.htm Download the Realtek (Azalia) HDA ALC88x, ALC86x, ALC66x, ALC26x version A.195 and see if it works for you. It's the one with the yellow new icon beside of it.
