JH2688 Posted June 29, 2008 CID Share Posted June 29, 2008 I'm going to try and explain what i need to you guys. I'm not sure how to put it so I'm just going to try my best. I need something for my RCA audio cable and turn it into a headphone jack so that i can use my computer speakers for it. Heres a very crude picture that might help out. Ive looked for this adaptor and haven't found anything, but i think there should be one out there somewhere

JH2688 Posted June 29, 2008 Author CID Share Posted June 29, 2008 what ive been trying to do is use my playstation with my 22" lcd monitor which gives a perfect picture but it uses a DVI input, so what i needed to do use to use my HDMI to DVI cable for the video. and use the multi output to my TV's RCA inputs for sound. and my tv has a headphone jack to connect my computer speakers to. i wanted and easy way. JH2688 Posted June 29, 2008 Author CID Share Posted June 29, 2008 I cant even buy this one http://www.cablewholesale.com/specs/30s1-01400.htm Because they require a $10 minimum purchase. First paragraph here https://www.cablewholesale.com/about/tsandcs.htm I don't think you would want that anyway because its mono. what ive been trying to do is use my playstation with my 22" lcd monitor which gives a perfect picture but it uses a DVI input, so what i needed to do use to use my HDMI to DVI cable for the video. and use the multi output to my TV's RCA inputs for sound. and my tv has a headphone jack to connect my computer speakers to. i wanted and easy way. And what you are doing there sounds really odd. Why don't you just put your computer speakers directly too the playstation and get your TV out of the mix. Go from the playstations rca audio out too this cable http://www.priceguidenetwork.com/3.5mm-stereo-female-to-rca-male-y-cable-pgn-28440424.html get 2 barrel connectors http://technicalconnectionsinc.stores.yahoo.net/rcacoja.html Connect the first RCA too 3.5mm too your playstation then plug your speakers directly into the 3.5mm female end
JH2688 Posted June 29, 2008 Author CID Share Posted June 29, 2008 I cannot connect my speakers directly to the PS3 because it does not have a headphone jack. Im using the HDMI to DVI cable for the monitor and using the multi-out connected to my tv, and using the tv's headphone jack connected to my speakers for the sound. JH2688 Posted June 29, 2008 Author CID Share Posted June 29, 2008 Do you think i can find in a store or do i have to order it online. I dont like ordering a couple bucks worth at a time and from 2 different places
x_6985381 Posted June 29, 2008 CID Share Posted June 29, 2008 Online would probably be the best, if you don't want to move lol. (or pay extra) I've found ordering online, saves me money. But for something this small I don't see it making a difference. If you can find it in store, buy it, but if you can't I'd order it online and get it shipped to my house. pakocat Posted June 30, 2008 CID Share Posted June 30, 2008 I did this. I went from the PS2 to a pre-amp and had good quality sound. In order to go to your PC Speakers, they must be able to amplify the sound on their own accord. In the acse of a PS3, I would expect that if you want the best sound you should go into a digital receiver. These days your cable box has Composite video and audio conections in that will give you a nice HD picture as well. I'm not sure if the PS3 has the same capability of the 360 to use the Windows Media Center or not, But I could probably figure some thing out to go from the pc out to the TV as well if you sport a HDTV tuner on your graphics card.
