What OS are you running? Vista 2. Who your Internet Service Provider (ISP) is, and what the advertised speed for download/upload is. comcast (cable) up to 12mbps idk about UL 3. What tweaking programs you already have installed, and run this test. Copy all text and paste it in your post! For security reasons, blank out your IP #. McAfee 13. Make sure you have ALL of the latest Windows Updates Answer:done that..... 14. Download and run CCleaner i run in mult times a day. 15. Go to VanBuren testmy.net Cablenut settings and install Cablenut 4.08 and Vanburens cablenut settings version 9 installed cablenut 16. If you choose to build your own tweakfile with j79zlr's webpage, I suggest to leave SynAttackProtect to 0, and use a latency value between 150 and 300 ms. If your calculated TcpWindowSize is above 65535 and your webrowsing seem sluggish, i suggest to test with a TcpWindowSize and GlobalMaxTcpWindowsize that is 44 x ( your MSS value ) and change Tcp13230pts to 0. Buntz Posted July 10, 2008 CID Share Posted July 10, 2008 If you did the test during day time hours there maybe to much other traffic on the node. For me to get the speed in my sig I usually have to test between Midnight to 9:00 AM. There are no programs that I know of that will tweak Vista to improve your connection speed right now, so like me you are basically stuck with what you got. Cablenut does not work in Vista. Call Comcast and have them send someone out to check all of your cable connection,cable modem and the cable going to your modem,they may find a bad connector or a bad cable. Edit-If your are running a router, try hooking right up to the modem, bypassing the router and see what you get for speed. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

bassking511 Posted July 11, 2008 Author CID Share Posted July 11, 2008 well hardlined into the router works.....but but when i try and hardline directly form modem.....i cant establish a connection.....idk y...i mean its enabled..... i tried to release/renew ip like i saw to do sumwhere....but i cant get internet from it... any ideas? is there software i have to install for the modem if i want to have a direct link?
