mudmanc4 Posted September 3, 2008 CID Share Posted September 3, 2008 Don't worry about it, we all came here new to the site , and tweaking once. I 've never used the TCP optimizer, when i set up a Windows machine, I use cablenut, and vanburens ccs files, try them and see what it gets you. Ay questions you have, just ask them, we'll all do as much as we can to help.
x_6985381 Posted September 3, 2008 CID Share Posted September 3, 2008 TCP Optimizer never got me the correct download rates always maxed my connection. Now bare with me all connections do need a push a certain tweak to make them faster, so what works for some, may not always work for others. I have always used Cablenut, simply because of the sheer support that the website has to offer towards it. Plus I feel it tweaks more than TCP Optimizer. Most users like TCP Optimizer because it's more, "User-friendly", and thats fine for most, but when you absolutely want the most the connection can give you, I'd suggest using Cablenut, as it has the support of most of testmy.net's users. tommie gorman Posted September 4, 2008 CID Share Posted September 4, 2008 Depends on the applicaton for real. I find that on EVDO and Satelite, TCP Optimizer did the most good over cable nut. Always try both in my opinion.

tommie gorman Posted September 5, 2008 CID Share Posted September 5, 2008 Before any tweaks can work the machine has to be clean. http://www.testmy.net/t-4257
