dlewis23 Posted November 16, 2008 CID Share Posted November 16, 2008 Ok so I need a good self powered USB hub for a project that i'm doing. I have been looking around and tried a few, they all suck so far. You wouldn't think it would be so hard to find one but it is I have bought 3 from best buy so far they all said self powered and include a power adapter but end up being bus powered. The idiots at bestbuy think that self powered means the computer powers it And i'm running out of ones to try. I tried this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817145036 and it was total crap. So does anyone know of a good powered USB hub that they know works with devices that require power like external hard drives.

mudmanc4 Posted November 16, 2008 CID Share Posted November 16, 2008 I use it because i refuse to have that drain on the bus, no way. The model i have is "K33366" . Hot swappable, and the most reliable hub I've used. I have three 2.5 " Hdd's , mouse, KB, camera mini usb, and a thumb drive plugged up. No problems whatsoever.
