tommie gorman Posted July 29, 2009 CID Share Posted July 29, 2009 Whe n I was on hughes, the best mine ran was keeping scans often, defraged, diskcleaned, and keeping the modem discharged with the finger to the tip where the cable goes into it. Other than that not sure. Does hughes now have a 768 package?
24Kbps Posted July 29, 2009 Author CID Share Posted July 29, 2009 just looked it up and we have the 1mb/128kb speed, and im getting around 340? hmm, so are there any good free spyware programs and scanners?

24Kbps Posted August 13, 2009 Author CID Share Posted August 13, 2009 yeah i have ran both, cablenut and tcp Now, and i notice a difference with TCP, and nothing really with cablenut. did cablenut work for you when you had hughes?
tommie gorman Posted August 13, 2009 CID Share Posted August 13, 2009 No, cablenut and firefox actually both slowed mine down. I did best with TCP Optimizer and IE6 at the time. Like I said, I got 1030/80 with a 500/50. Except in the afternoons.
24Kbps Posted August 13, 2009 Author CID Share Posted August 13, 2009 it seems to me i get the Best(700-1mb) in the mornings, afternoon- about 9pm i get anywhere from 100kb-600kb. but when i do the tcp opt. it only lasts for a little?? like it will run pretty fast and then go back to 500ish or so. tommie gorman Posted August 13, 2009 CID Share Posted August 13, 2009 Than that might be yours reconfiguring itself back to what hughes wants it to be. They are in control.
