coknuck Posted November 27, 2009 CID Share Posted November 27, 2009 If you want to totally erase the hard drive before trying to install XP use Boot & Nuke. I will get rid of everything and then you can do a clean install. http://www.dban.org/

It is a Bootable CD; thus, it can be useful even if the primary operating system cannot be booted. Hiren's Boot CD has an extensive list of software. wknight40 Posted November 27, 2009 CID Share Posted November 27, 2009 Do the above, but the reason it will not allow the install with Vista loaded is it detects a newer OS and does not allow a downgrade. So as mentioned above you will first have to get rid of Vista completely then you can install XP.
