Connection is:: 379 Kbps about 0.4 Mbps (tested with 579 KB)

Upload Speed is:: 46 KB/s

Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/

Test Time:: Sun Feb 27 19:50:59 PST 2005

Bottom Line:: 7X faster than 56K 1MB upload in 22.26 sec

HERE

TCP options string = 020405b40103030401010402

MTU = 1500

MTU is fully optimized for broadband.

MSS = 1460

Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which equals MSS.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 624640

RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 4 bits (scale factor of 8)

Unscaled Receive Window = 39040

For optimum performance, consider changing RWIN to a multiple of MSS.

Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:

513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)

256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)

128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)

64240 (MSS x 44)

I have the same service and ISP as you, but I am not sure where you are located. I am in the New England Cox area. I used CableNuts adjuster with VanBuren tweaks for Cable 5000/756 and got results of Down-5317 and Up-733  :D    Good luck

Here you can get the programs  and files needed: Cablenut_408 https://testmy.net/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=1013.0;id=64

Vanburens latest cable settings I belive but I may be wrong https://testmy.net/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=1013.0;id=63

are these normal? i dont have a problem with the upload speed becasue Cox only rates it at 384 but my dl speeds are pretty bad.

that linequality test looks good on your end, i suggest to open cablenut adjuster and click delete cablenut tweaks and click save to registry and reboot

now make a new speed and tweaktest

Guest PeePs

Those latency's are pretty **** high for Cox. My friend has Cox and he gets somewhere around the advertised speeds and his latency on those tests are usually like 60 or so. My ISP is basically the same as Cox, and I also get low latency. If you ask me it looks like Cox is overloaded in your area or some error on their end. I don't think you going to be able to do anything about it. That's just what I think though

hey van i did some reading and did some tests that were recomended and i cam up with this. Could this be a prob?

- [00000001] Intel® PRO/100 VE Network Connection (FAILED)

That means your NIC card ( the thing your cord plugs into to give you internet)  Failed. You should look into getting another one. That is a deffinate problem for speed.

im currently using one of your cable nut setting van,  and i think that kind of helped a bit.  what kind of cablenut sertting shoudl i use. also should i give Cox a call and tell them that it is slow. I will tell them that there are a lot of puases

delete the tweaks as suggested in my previous post, its not a matter of tweaks

update all drivers and firmware for your router
