CA3LE Posted October 12, 2010 CID Share Posted October 12, 2010 Some Comcast users have been experiencing slower than normal speeds to testmy.net's main server. I've contacted my host about this multiple times but have finally got a response from Comcast directly about the issue. We have been informed by our backbone group that there is a core outage between New York and Ashburn, VA which would cause the issue which you are reporting below. The backbone group has a tech onsite at the Ashburn location and the outage should be resolved soon. You can reference ticket ND008974679 which has been open to track this issue. Thank you. Often times when major backbones go down for a provider it will cause network traffic to be congested along the remaining trunks. If you're on Comcast ... or your provider has peering with Comcast ... and you're seeing slower than normal speeds at testmy.net, chances are this is why. - CA3LE

Please let us know if you are still seeing any latency issues across their network. Regards, Robert Santana NOC Technician
