bkpkrlinda Posted January 10, 2011 CID Share Posted January 10, 2011 Hi, I have windows vista and would like to use the windows vista tcp tweak by VanBuren. I downloaded "vanburen_cablenut_settings_all_versions.zip" file but I don't know which ccs file to save to registry. I have wildblue satellite connection. How do I know which file to use??? thanks
CA3LE Posted January 10, 2011 CID Share Posted January 10, 2011 Under Version 9 >> Satellite and either MTU 1460 or MTU 1500 ... I'm not sure which works best with Wildblue. Hopefully this helps you out. Note that those patches are very old but if you're on an older version of Windows this should still be helpful. - CA3LE
amitch70 Posted January 28, 2011 CID Share Posted January 28, 2011 Any Idea what works best with roadrunner?
CA3LE Posted January 28, 2011 CID Share Posted January 28, 2011 Any Idea what works best with roadrunner? Cable providers usually perform best with an MTU of 1500 -- PPPoE providers usually perform better a little lower MTU. I also recommend trying the TCP Optimizer from SpeedGuide.net
coknuck Posted January 29, 2011 CID Share Posted January 29, 2011 Seeing as you are using Vista I wold recommend TCP Optimizer from SpeedGuide.net also. The newer OS's don't respond well with Cablenut like the older OS"s did. For XP back I would recommend Van Buren. Good Luck!
