Cap Posted March 4, 2005 CID Share Posted March 4, 2005 Has anyone found that switching to a newer ethernet adapter speeds up your connection? I'm currently using the onboard lan, very ancient, and am considering upgrading to a newer pci adapter. Could this make a difference even though my card is already operating at 100Mbps/full duplex? xs1 Posted March 4, 2005 CID Share Posted March 4, 2005 You wont notice any real difference unless your home netwrking. The integrated one in my comp was about 4 years old before i bought my pci, not a difference at all.
Cap Posted March 4, 2005 Author CID Share Posted March 4, 2005 Thanks for the info. And how about the modem? I'm using an old Linksys befcmu10. I couldn't find anything about bandwidth caps for this one and Linksys hasn't had updated firmware since I've had it (over 3 years).
