Guest philp Posted March 14, 2005 CID Share Posted March 14, 2005 dumb q?: what determines how fast a web page comes up; download or upload speed? It's really the server from which you are downloading the web page. Even if you have a 10 meg down connection, it won't matter if the website's server can only upload at 50 kbps. xs1 Posted March 14, 2005 CID Share Posted March 14, 2005 Its both. If you have a realy high download speed, and 56k upload, you wont be loading web pages too quickly. You need both download and upload to load webpages. But usualy 30 -> 90 kbs upload & down is all that it takes to load web pages quickly. ( unless it has inbeded music, and flash, things like that. )
