ninjageek Posted September 2, 2014 CID Share Posted September 2, 2014 So I been messing around with a VPN. My local provider seems to enjoy messing with the connection speeds. So first I test With out the VPN, Horrid Speeds, Fire Up the VPN, I got one test done, and my browser and connection is faster, So I went to try one more connection, and Now I get a page that says " Sorry, you don't have permission for that!" So I disconnect from the VPN, and all is fine. I am testing a "West" connection. Seems like the "mid west", where I live is not really quick. mudmanc4 Posted September 2, 2014 CID Share Posted September 2, 2014 Sounds like you have the connection reset the network card when you are leased the VPN subnet. Hence lost authentication when testing. Should be settings involved in the local client for this. You run your own VPN server? Or is this a service you pay for? Is there an anonymizer involved (proxy) ? This could be another reason , the session may not be able to authenticate your connection to initiate the test. I use for one connection AES-256-CBC TAP and close to the same for the TUN so it's not the fastest thing on the planet. Though I've not tried testing with it, I should though. nanobot Posted September 8, 2014 CID Share Posted September 8, 2014 If you are using the remote gateway that could be showing an issue. I use a VPN for work but I don't use the remote access gateway simply because I only need the VPN for RDP. Thanks, EBrown
