kzpj1r Posted May 15, 2015 CID Share Posted May 15, 2015 Hi. TMN, Speakeasy, and Speedof.me reports my speed to be around 60Mbps/12Mbps wherease Speedtest.net by Ookla reports my speed to be 125Mbps/12Mbps. My current Comcast plan is 50Mbps/10Mbps. Why is Speedtest.net is so far off? It used to be correct 6 months ago. By the way Speedtest.net and Comcast test servers shows the same result. Both tests for TMN and Speedtest.net were using test servers in Dallas. Just curious as to why Speedtest.net shows a large discrepancy? Pgoodwin1 Posted May 15, 2015 CID Share Posted May 15, 2015 mine read about the same on all three when i choose cities that are the same or a similar distance away from me. all of the OOKLA tests used to be way overly optimistic. i believe they changed from Flash based to html5 based testing in the not too distance past. not sure i'd trust any of them other than TMN.
