What I was saying is, a hacker still could attack me through port 80. Isnt that possible? sometimes it shows me that its blocked, sometimes its not.

Well, you need port 80. Yes, a hacker could attack you through that port, but the chances are slim to none. If you have a good firewall & antivirus which protects you from network attacks, you should be fine.

If you need port 80, why am I hearing on the FIOS forum that Verizon is blocking it? How are they working around it?

If verizon is blocking port 80, they must set up their service to go through some kind of proxy server. Other than that, I wouldn't believe it.
