Sonnie Posted April 26, 2005 Author CID Share Posted April 26, 2005 Thanks for the welcome... You are right... I am capped. I called my ISP this morning and he told me that there is no cap... what he mean't is there is no cap on download speeds. However, there is a cap on upload speeds and they had me on 128K... the best they could do was bump me up to 256K. New test results indicate such... :::.. VanBuren Posted April 26, 2005 CID Share Posted April 26, 2005 what cablenut file did you use? I suggest you try the cable&dsl files from MSS 1460 folder since you dont have a cap downstream, try 5000 file, 6000, 8000, and 10000 file and use the file that works best just change the DefaultSendwindow to 32768 for all these files remember to click save to registry and reboot after each change good luck VanBuren
Sonnie Posted April 26, 2005 Author CID Share Posted April 26, 2005 I used cable_fast_2k.ccs but I will try the others and see what happens. Thanks!
CA3LE Posted April 26, 2005 CID Share Posted April 26, 2005 Are you sure there is no limits... I looked at their website and it says nothing about that. http://www.troycable.net/services/rez_broadband.mv Looks like their best package is 2Mbps/256Kbps ~~

Oh I didn't see this post.... looks like your running right in line with what you pay for now... you can expect +-10Kbps -- that's normal. VanBuren Posted April 26, 2005 CID Share Posted April 26, 2005 you might want to test these custom cablenut files https://testmy.net/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=1013.0;id=1345 you should use the MSS 1460 folder VanBuren

Sonnie Posted April 26, 2005 Author CID Share Posted April 26, 2005 What's the purpose of changing the DefaultSendwindow to 32768 on these custom ccs files? I noticed on the OOL 10000 1000.ccs file that it is set at 128000. Why make it lower?
