Guest helloimtim Posted April 28, 2005 CID Share Posted April 28, 2005 I dumped windows xp from the harddrive. Getting it set up to run as a slave on my new computer. I deleted xp. I can find no indications of another partition. When I boot up it gives me either windows 2000 pro or windows as a boot option. Its a compaq computer with xp pre installed. Any ideas? Swimmer Posted April 28, 2005 CID Share Posted April 28, 2005 It might be the fact that the computer came pre installed with windows 2000.. and compaq doesnt supply OEM copies of the os so all of the files are on a protected partition.. changing the boot.ini should take care of this..
