resijs Posted May 5, 2005 CID Share Posted May 5, 2005 1.5 is max in my area, how can I complain? At least I get better then advertised speeds. >
Pete_2000 Posted May 5, 2005 Author CID Share Posted May 5, 2005 I'm sorry but I'm not an expert in this area, although Verizon have been advertising this upgrade on the TV recently also. I would call the customer service line and see if there's anything you can do, but if you are capped in your area to 1.5mbps I suspect there is nothing you (or they) can do due to geography i.e your distance from the nearest Verizon box. It's certainly worth a phone call though.......maybe you can get a discount instead?
resijs Posted May 5, 2005 CID Share Posted May 5, 2005 I only got this connection yesterday! LOL
Pete_2000 Posted May 5, 2005 Author CID Share Posted May 5, 2005 So what?? make the call! they probably think they've got away with another one......!
resijs Posted May 11, 2005 CID Share Posted May 11, 2005 Trust me, they don't have 3.0 in my area. Even so, I think it's really 2.7 and 3.0 was the closest whole number.
Minhiscus Posted May 11, 2005 CID Share Posted May 11, 2005 i have 3.0 and i think that's all i ever need from downstream. is there any more to higher speeds it than getting nice test results? I can understand high upload rates, but i'd stick with 3.0 since it's enough for me only cost me $29.99 hehehe
Pete_2000 Posted May 11, 2005 Author CID Share Posted May 11, 2005 I'll agree with the 2.7 comment....I've never got any faster than 2.7 myself, but it seems fast enough for what I need......for now, and I can't get FIOS in my area yet. xs1 Posted May 11, 2005 CID Share Posted May 11, 2005 Think of it this way, you could have monthly down/up limits, or dialup
