This is my family's computer so I have no idea what they have done to it. I have tried clearing the internet cache, but I keep getting this. The computer is a lot slower than it used to be on the internet. There is another computer on the network that works fine and reports the speed as normal. If anyone has any ideas they are appricated. TIA!

php Posted May 6, 2005 CID Share Posted May 6, 2005 no, if you get that on the first run of a test, the server is down or there was an error. to get that result, well... if you want to know, pm me and i might tell you... i didnt just hit the back button, thats not near as fast... bcraig15 Posted May 7, 2005 Author CID Share Posted May 7, 2005 Ya, I thought it was cached. But it has done this for a few days, even on the very first run. Continues through various restarts and cache clearings. I am going to try to do it in safe-mode with networking and see if it still acts up. php Posted May 7, 2005 CID Share Posted May 7, 2005 are you using some kind of internet accelator?
bcraig15 Posted May 7, 2005 Author CID Share Posted May 7, 2005 This computer doesn't have a download accelerator, but since this is a family computer it has an internet content screener that seems to be a resource hog. I think that might be the problem.
