Your memory is bad or incompatible with the mobo. Generic memory sticks will also cause this error.

If it is the memory, usually Windows XP Setup won't even start... the real-mode part of setup (with the blue background) will hang at "Setup is starting Windows..." just before the EULA. If not, you'll usually get file copy errors during setup... with a message that tells you the disc may be dirty.The problem is data corruption in the memory, which means the file that ends up on the hard drive doesn't match the original on the disc.

Try slapping a name-brand memory board in it, as most manufactured PC's are equipped with second-rate trash.

Also, the Realtek chipset NIC card (onboard NIC, or a PCI NIC) are known to cause this BSOD too.

Removing the PCI NIC/disabling the onboard and using a 3COM NIC will solve el problemmo.
