Hello, im complety new to this forum, and I was wondering if Using around half of the average host speed is a bad thing? I am an Earthlink subscriber and from reading other posts it didnt seem like many people were satisfied, so I ran an upload test and these are my results.

:::.. Download Stats ..:::

Connection is:: 731 Kbps about 0.7 Mbps (tested with 386 kB)

Download Speed is:: 89 kB/s

Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (server2)

Test Time:: Thu Jun 30 16:16:25 EDT 2005

Bottom Line:: 13X faster than 56K 1MB download in 11.51 sec

Diagnosis: May need help : running at only 57.47 % of your hosts average (covad.net)

Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-HPXQ5D3CM

I have tried tweaks before but they havent really help that much. I assum I am doing them wrong. I used DRTCP and I set My MTU to 1492 and the TCP recieve window to 37777. After that my speed test became worse. When I set the MTU to 1492 the tweak test at Dslreports.com says I have to set it to 1492. I tried to do it in the registry but I am having trouble understanding there instructions, I cant find the propper key 000n that has the limmiter for the Max Frame Size. I am using Windows XP SP1, and the advertised speed is 1.5mbps for download I believe. Any thought or help would be appreciated.

Hey and welcome to the forum Hachi_Roku.

Go into the Make it Faster! section of the forum and click on VanBuren's post, should be the first or second one. Try the steps mentioned there first. Then try CableNut(similar to DrTCP) and post your results here. You should be running at about 1.3-1.4Mbps for your connection. Try those steps out and let us know:D
