stblues Posted July 12, 2005 CID Share Posted July 12, 2005 Well I have been a Direcway customer for 2 days now. I recently bought Battlefield 2, and was all excited about finally being able to play it, boy was I wrong. I loaded up into a server and my ping was around 1000. The lowest I was able to get was 900. I was wondering Is there ANY way to be able to play games online, perticularly newer FPS games, for example maybe the satellte on clear days, satellite gaming servers in the future, any ideas/suggestions? REV0LUTI0NIZED Posted July 12, 2005 CID Share Posted July 12, 2005 You can't play on-line games with DirecWay it's too slow. You will be be lagging as you said
php Posted July 12, 2005 CID Share Posted July 12, 2005 I'm afraid it's not gonna work... absolute MINIMUM POSSIBLE ping, under best conditions, is around 500ms or so... normal conditions its 800-1000, up to 3000+

REV0LUTI0NIZED Posted July 12, 2005 CID Share Posted July 12, 2005 not true, you can play games that don't need split second movement ( like warcraft, guildwars,......) I was talking about war games that use grenades, rocket launchers, hardcore war games. Not story(RPG).

Spaz Posted July 18, 2005 CID Share Posted July 18, 2005 Whoa, you can play guildwars with dirceway?!? awesome!
ajb62787 Posted July 18, 2005 CID Share Posted July 18, 2005 DirectWay is bad because you can't get internet in the middle of a heavy rain storm. The ping is about 4 seconds in between webpages compared to tenths of a second with DSL and Cable.
tbaker397 Posted July 19, 2005 CID Share Posted July 19, 2005 Do you bash an ISP in everyone of your posts.... sheesh.... Anyway Latency is very bad with DWay, due to the proxy and the fact it has to travel a few miles round trip...
