Nostromes Posted October 13, 2004 CID Share Posted October 13, 2004 At my work, we are having a 10megabit WAN connection installed between two offices about 40 miles apart. The connection will be via fibre optics provided by Charter Communication. I'll post some speed tests and latency tests when it's all set up (eta. one month) (note. I realize some of you guys have internet connections at home comming close to that, 4, 5, 8+ megabites to the net, but still...damn, this is going to be fast
luwigie Posted October 13, 2004 CID Share Posted October 13, 2004 Is that just between the two offices? Or is it a 10mbps WAN connection which runs VPN? If it's just between the two offices, then you most likely will not have 10mbps to the net.
Stank_Ho Posted October 13, 2004 CID Share Posted October 13, 2004 True, and you need to consider how many end users there are in both facilities. That bandwidth can get real small real fast with alot of people running around on it.
