organ_shifter Posted August 14, 2005 CID Share Posted August 14, 2005 Is the keyboard plugged into the PS/2 port, or are you going through usb? And is the keyboard a multimedia design? I'm asking because I can't use certain keys on my board unless I press the F-Lock button (which enables those keys).

Swimmer Posted August 15, 2005 CID Share Posted August 15, 2005 As far as I know the usb drivers are loaded for install.. Try moving the keyboard to a different usb slot..
raptors892004 Posted August 15, 2005 CID Share Posted August 15, 2005 I got the same kind of keyboard, but I can't use it on a USB port when typing on the command prompt (e.g.: before entering Windows setup (installer) from BIOS or whatever the black DOS thing is called ).. If you entered the Windows Install program from the command prompt (did you start to install windows from the command prompt or from another previous windows installation?), then it should be alright.. If the problem is not with the keyboard keys or anything, then one of those converters for USB keyboards to PS/2 should fix it (my multimedia keyboard came with it..) Dilatedpeoples28 Posted August 15, 2005 CID Share Posted August 15, 2005 when i reinstalled windows xp in the middle of i, it froze kinda like yours and so i figured out that i had to go into the bios and turn off usb emulation. It worked for me, dunno if it will for u. good luck!!

raptors892004 Posted August 16, 2005 CID Share Posted August 16, 2005 No problems.. That's what this forum is set up for (at least one of the reasons why) .. With the ps/2 connection, you can even go into windows boot menus (F8 key during startup) and everything ..
