al244 Posted August 26, 2005 CID Share Posted August 26, 2005 Wow. Cox is obviously the best ISP in Fairfax, VA. 5/768 package or 5/2 package I don't remember. But check out these speeds! :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 5602 Kbps about 5.6 Mbps (tested with 5983 kB) Download Speed is:: 684 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (server2) Test Time:: Fri Aug 26 2005 19:55:01 GMT-0400 (Eastern Standard Time) Bottom Line:: 100X faster than 56K 1MB download in 1.5 sec Diagnosis: Awesome! 20% + : 48.36 % faster than the average for host (cox.net) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-26SN04UCJ :::.. Upload Stats ..::: Connection is:: 1644 Kbps about 1.6 Mbps (tested with 1496 kB) Upload Speed is:: 201 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (server1) Test Time:: Fri Aug 26 2005 19:11:29 GMT-0400 (Eastern Standard Time) Bottom Line:: 29X faster than 56K 1MB upload in 5.09 sec Diagnosis: Awesome! 20% + : 216.15 % faster than the average for host (Cox.net) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-WJZA3MIY7 If it's supposed to be 2MB upload then that's a little slow, but I don't remember what it's supposed to be. I could use a Custom Cablenut file, because the ones in Van Buren's V7 don't have a 5/2 or 5/768 custom file. Still, I'm very happy that I have Cox Cable! I switched from 768Kbps download Verizon DSL, and have this great speed now. It should be perfect for anything! The guy who came to install our service had to take an extra hour though, Lol. Still, Cox is the best!

dn0 Posted August 27, 2005 CID Share Posted August 27, 2005 The speed tests all match up quite well. I would give the upload some time before getting too concerned about not hitting your 2mbps cap. I found VanBuren's Verizon Fios DHCP 5000 - 2000 cable nut file, it can't hurt to try that one. It is attached below. Let us know if it helps.
