bighawk211 Posted September 4, 2005 CID Share Posted September 4, 2005 1) What kind of server are you trying to run?, Game server or other (HTTP,FTP,etc.) if your trying to run a game server like for example Counter-strike im not sure but I think you can have about 10 people or so and not have lagg, it could be more im not really sure.. if its a FTP server than it would be kind of slow if people were to download things of it same thing with HTTP

bighawk211 Posted September 5, 2005 CID Share Posted September 5, 2005 you could run it from your computer, but it would be kind of slow, but if you can put 15-20 dollars a month aside you could rent a professional server with lots of bandwidth

DO i need a server box or can i run it from my comp?. there is no possible way you can run a 16 man cs server on that, let alone a web server along with that - its a ridiculous idea - you can get 5 dollar per month hosting nowdays that has all you need....don't even kid your self
