zucharn Posted September 9, 2005 CID Share Posted September 9, 2005 I'm running windows xp with the p2p fix and sp2 my isp is optimum online and I haven't been able to find the advertised speeds :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 387 Kbps about 0.4 Mbps (tested with 386 kB) Download Speed is:: 47 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (server2) Test Time:: Thu Sep 08 2005 23:02:42 GMT-0400 (Eastern Daylight Time) Bottom Line:: 7X faster than 56K 1MB download in 21.79 sec Diagnosis: May need help : running at only 6.39 % of your hosts average (optonline.net) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-0KFDWOZHE I was looking at the average speed of optimum online from the test, and figured that it would be safe if I used the file for about that amount, but after trying the different settings out with the premade files, and VanBuren's files, as well as the custom ones from j79zlr's webpage, things are going at a crawl. looking for help to fix my problem. with VanBuren's file everything was very fast for about 5 minutes, i tried the customised one, and it was worse, so I went back to the first one and everything was still slow.
