Using wireless with the router I would get only about 3.1 Mbps. Now I need to by a 50' Cat5e to run it to my PC...so sad

kloquewerk Posted September 24, 2005 Author CID Share Posted September 24, 2005 I have my router about 15 feet away because the modem is connected with the coax cable across the room so the router is right next to it. I also have a USB wireless adapter which slows down the connection as well. It's a B connection. I bought this setup when wireless first became available and very little was known about it. It's time for me to get a more recent setup or just patch the connection with a Cat5 (which I didn't want to have to do).

kloquewerk Posted September 25, 2005 Author CID Share Posted September 25, 2005 Thanks guys! on my wireless their is no speed drop at all and im at the other end of the house...and upstairs Which router setup are you using to have no speed drop?? I just went out and bought me a 50' patch cable to finally hook this up to get my 6 Mb speed and wouldn't mind dishing out money to get rid of these horrible wires. Oh, I love the new speed! It's awesome. Wish I could afford the 8Mb setup but this is just fine for the meantime. And by the way my upload is horrible!!! Here it is: :::..
