hille Posted June 13, 2003 CID Share Posted June 13, 2003 I have a problem with my cable connection provider. The server is down very often. I am looking for a program to monitor the connection time over say a period of one month in order to introduce a documented claim. Any ideas? Thanks hille
mrp Posted June 18, 2003 CID Share Posted June 18, 2003 Unforunately, no matter what type of documentation you show your provider, they will most likely tell you that the service was not down, and that you are wrong in your documentation. To avoid this, perhaps look for other local servers?
CA3LE Posted June 20, 2003 CID Share Posted June 20, 2003 A lot of the time your problem is with your providers DNS, I recomend using a program called EXTRA DNS, I have had great sucess with this and have had ZERO down time since I started running my own DNS server. - Damon
Guest visitor Posted July 22, 2003 CID Share Posted July 22, 2003 dslreports.com offers a service to monitor your connection. I believe the first week is free. Check it out. Karl
